Tempo Magic App Reviews

Good sound

Good sound with the capability to surround the stupid audio level limitation on the original iPod player when you use low efficiency earphones I would love to see a sliding bar to access any part of the song playing, the time elapsed and the time remaining of the song playing, a memory loop capability to practice on a specific part of the track

Finally a pitch control!

Love it! Worth every penny! I was complaining last year that someone should invent a pitch control app for iPhone cause it was sometimes an issue with certain mid-tempo playlists i wanted to play in class. Thank you Tempo Magic! Awesome, easy to use, efficient application!

Great for ballroom dancers, too

As a ballroom dancer I very much appreciate being able to adjust the BPM of dance music. Works as advertised. Not mentioned in the promotion is that it doesnt accept DRM protected music. So you have to burn and reinstall those. Would be helpful to have a volume control.

Love it!

Two suggestions for future updates: 1. SHUFFLE! I have a workout playlist and would love it if the program was able to shuffle it for me so Im not always listening to the same songs 2. Pull BPM from song data. I dont know if this I possible but I have a bunch of songs with BPM already found out and if the app could auto detect that it would be amazing! Besides that this app is perfect!

Does exactly what it claims, perfectly.

I spend a lot of time combing charts and oldies for new music with the right bpm for walking, jogging, swimming and resistance training. It never even occurred to me that the tempo of tracks could be changed without complex remixing. This app has more than doubled my workout library. Successful tempo changes are limited by what sounds right to your own ear, generally within +/- 12% of the original bpm. Brilliant app!

Tempo Magic Pro

I am now using this app and it is the best thing ever! I bought my ipod touch just to use it and I haven’t been disappointed. I can use ANY of my fitness music for all of my classes, and I teach both Seniors (slower) and Hi Lo and Step which are much faster. Now I just bring my ipod, no CDs, and decide the bpm I want to use for my class on the spot! I think this is the next best thing to the fitness music itself.

Just what I needed.

The BPM lock function is just what I needed for pace-based exercise. Also, being able to adjust the song speed is very useful for ballroom dancing. The only other useful thing I can think of would be the ability to set in and out points on songs to eliminate long intros, etc., to blend the next song right into the dancing part of the song.

Neat App

I teach all types of classes - and its great that I can just pitch it up or down pending on the participants level.

Expensive confusing and wont work

:(

Please add shuffle

Great app use it all the time for spin bike. Desperately needs shuffle option!!!

not working after upgrade

great to see all the changes (especially the shuffle), but after the upgrade my tracks either take a long time to load or dont play at all. what happened?

Dont waste your $

Crap- wont selects songs from playlist- says it can only add 50/time and then only plays 2 songs before crashing. The bpm gauge only worked once. Wish I could get a refund.

An Instructors Most Valuable Tool

Ive been playing with App and having absolutely no issues. Invaluable.

Aerobic instructor

Your upgrade is horrible scrubbing is cause breaks on between song and static sounds - old version was better! Its frustrating when instructing......always stops and looses a beat!

This does not work!!!!

I have used this in class to change the BPM of aerobics music…it will start shifting BPMs in the middle of class, or crash, or be so slow that it is useless. I am going to try power musics app to see if that does any better then this piece of crapola.

Newest update version 3

Yay! First day of working with the new update, several playlists on hand for the variety of classes I teach.... Very nice! Seems to keep bpm, no skipping- fingers crossed I think this is the best update(after some letdowns). Great job!

pros/cons

Ive been using this app for a while now and on the whole I think this app is great. Like being able to create and save playlists. It would be great to transfer those playlists to iTunes though. What I find frustrating is not being able to change all the bpms at once. Having to do each one individually is time consuming. Also, the bpm lock "slips" when you return to the app after leaving app for a while. For instance, I had to change 119 bpm to 90 bpm. I had to exit the app and when I came back to it the bpm went to 119, or higher. I had to go back in and change everything all again. It also seems that the Tempo cant find the bpm a lot of the time. Sometimes its easier to go back to a good old cd and pitch control from the machine, but having access to Tempo Magic Pro has its merits as well.

Love it!

Does just what it says. Music sounds natural...like its meant to be whatever speed you want it to be. Fantastic for working out! Would be nice if you could store more than one playlist at a time just to have then more readily available.

Good sound quality but missing key features

Good sound quality but not enough practical features. As an instructor I would like a playlist that a - could have individual tempo changes to different songs in a playlist (example - first 2 128 bpm for warm up, move to higher for the body & have cool down back to 90-100); b - have ability to save multiple adjusted playlists for later. The current set up makes it useless to set it & forget it for classes. I was disappointed with what it was missing for the cost of the app.

The app does not recognize song trimming

I removed a few seconds at the end of the songs in my playlist (using iTunes) in order to have a gapless mix. But TempoMagic does not recognize these adjustments and it continues to play the tracks in its original time.
